Latest Updates from Our Project:

Alia Terra Coloring Book and other Traveling Treasures!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Oct 10, 2022 at 08:38:54 PM

Ok, big news on the Alia Terra coloring book!

Chris here. Emily is getting ready for being the Guest of Honour at Can*Con this week. (E's very excited.) She'll be reaching out more on social media about our upcoming campaign soon, but I wanted to let you know that the Alia Terra coloring book will be one of many treasures available in our Traveling Treasure Trove Kickstarter launching next month! It will be the same size and layout as the paperback edition, so you can custom color your own Alia Terra.

Here is a mockup of how it would look:

We'll also be releasing a free set of selected illustrations from the book that can be downloaded and printed at home or school (or at the local library as Nora asked about in an earlier update).

The Traveling Treasure Trove

With these treasures, we are crowdfunding the audiobook edition of our 2019 release The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus by Alanna McFall, read by the amazing author and narrator C. S. E. Cooney. The Kickstarter will feature treasures that celebrate our 2022 releases, including Alia Terra.

Other treasures include:

  • Assassin blade enamel pins
  • Night Ivy scented candles
  • Tassels hand-purchased from a market in Dehli
  • Catalyst Squid plushies
  • Rogue Artists scarves

Go to the Kickstarter preview page and click "Notify me on lauch" to be the first to know when it goes live next month. More follows helps us out, too. Thank you!

If you would like to share the link here it is: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/atthisarts/treasures

That's it for now... time to get packed for Can*Con!

More Queer Dragons! (It's release day!)
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Jul 04, 2022 at 03:24:00 PM

Thanks so much for helping us fund Alia Terra: Stories from the Dragon Realm. We hope you are enjoying it!

(And if you get this update twice, that means you supported two indie, queer dragon books, so may we tempt you with another?)

We wanted to let you know that today is the release day for our editor, E.D.E. Bell's quiet fantasy Night Ivy. Plant magic, mage towers, and yes - dragons. We hope you'll give it a look, and help us let others know. And a fun connection - Emily's logo on eir website was drawn by yes, the amazing Matthew Spencer. Isn't it cool?

The cover is dark as night, yet highlighted by a mix of glowing green bricks and wandering purple ivy. The title and author name are handwritten in tall, thin letters in a shade of white.

And if you'd like to follow along with Xeleanor Du'Tam, Emily's links are collected at edebell.com.

Thank you for supporting indie fiction!

So you want to color dragons?
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Jun 20, 2022 at 09:10:43 PM

We have heard you, and it's going to take us some time to figure this out (this year sometime is the plan), but we are going to try to bring you an Alia Terra coloring book. (*grins broadly*)

In the meantime, we have two really big things for you to check out! Your support is helping us stay in this (and it's really serious right now) so thank you thank you thank you.

Sketchbook (featuring a true dragon)

First, our brand new Atthis Arts Sketchbook on Patreon, featuring the debut story, "Diamir’s Favourite Fork" by ... Ether Nephenthes! Yes, the amazing, talented, queer writer from France for whom the story "The Dragon, the Princess, and the Knight" was originally written! Minotaurs? Adventurers?

We hope you'll enjoy - and if you have the means, the more patrons we have, the more stories we can buy from Ether and other writers around the world. Your support helps our small press and helps us pay global writers with important voices to be heard.

Meet Grayshade (and a new short story!)

Also, please check out our dark assassin trilogy campaign. (It's listed under the TTRPG publisher's account, but the novels and audiobooks are very much us!)

We strongly encourage you to read the updates:

  • In Update #2, Gregory A. Wilson pours his heart onto the page in a way we know was not easy for him to do (but perhaps necessary).
  • Update #3 features a moving piece by Trini poet Brandon O'Brien, about why he loves this campaign and what writing such as what we are publishing here, at Atthis Arts, touches him and so many.
  • Update #4 features a new short story by E.D.E. Bell, in which she channels her 90s goth.
  • And because we've reached 100 backers, there will be a new short story from Gregory A. Wilson, very soon!

Also we know you love treasure, you hoarding dragonfriends. Definitely check out the bad-ass, accessorizable Founder's Coin (available at higher levels or as an add-on with one book). And if shipping is prohibitive, there is also a set of Founder's audio read by queer, furry narrator Tren Sparks that are guaranteed to be fun.

Thanks for your time, and thank you - as always - for supporting Indie Fiction. ♥

Hey everyone -- Chris here.

Everyone who donates a $1 or more via the link below will be entered into a chance to win an original painting from Alia Terra. This page of Matthew Spencer's artwork was donated by Matt and an anonymous donor.

Here is the link to donate (and share):

The artwork you can win comes from page 7 of the book:

ARVCON runs through tomorrow (Monday, 5/29). If you watch the event on Twitch, you can enter to win other fun prizes simply by throwing a comment in the Twitch channel.

Hello! If you backed our three last campaigns, you'll see this note thrice. Thank you for that support, for allowing me to not have to craft three different messages, and thank you for allowing me to say thrice. You are all the best. : )

So this will be quick. I'd really love for you to check out and spread the word about our latest release: Gigi Ganguly's One Arm Shorter Than The Other. It's delightfully uncanny, a quick pleasant read, mixes speculative and non-speculative genres, and I love it very much. #OneArmShorter https://atthisarts.com/product/one-arm-shorter

And...this stunning, brand-new review from Hugo-winning fanzine nerds of a feather, flock together! http://www.nerds-feather.com/2022/04/nanoreview-one-arm-shorter-than-other.html

Wishing you find joy and hope in these times ♥ - Emily.

The cover is patterned with a large, Delhi-style silvertoned jali (lattice) over a delicate medium-jade-colored background and wound with small rose-colored roses. Overtop are stretched two arms, medium-toned, hands wrinkled with age, and wearing loose beige sleeves. Between them in a modern dark emerald-color is "Gigi Ganguly's One Arm Shorter Than The Other."
